In 1992, the Mondo Group purchased artigo, combining cutting-edge technologies and designs with their well-established expertise. The factory in Cairo Montenotte (Savona) now designs products delivering superior performance, perfectly suited to meet the needs of healthcare and education environments, as well as many others.
Some of our collections stand out for their unique textures and shapes. This is the result of meticulous work on the molds and rollers used, which transfer the desired pattern and style through pressure. Whatever the shape or finish required, our creations stem from ongoing discussions between the different teams. This notably includes renowned designers such as Ponti, Mollino, and Albini.
The business partnership between the Sottsass Association and the Mondo Group brought to life numerous products, which today rank among the most popular in our catalog. A prime example is Kayar, which features a complex design in both the surface of the flooring and the structure of the material, with coconut fibers added to the material.
We offer solutions that are both aesthetically appealing and demonstrate unique technical and functional performances. Our products are PVC-free and contain no heavy metals, halogens, or volatile plasticizers. They also ensure low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions. Our commitment to sustainable development is grounded in the quality of the certifications we have obtained, resulting from strict controls throughout all manufacturing processes. From the selection of raw materials to emissions testing, our flooring meets the criteria of environmental building certification systems such as LEED and BREEAM.
To meet the regulatory requirements of the spaces they serve, Mondo Contract Flooring materials are designed to be bacteriostatic and hygienic. Important features such as ease of maintenance and resistance to static and rolling loads contribute to making our flooring durable and beneficial to facilities in the long term. Safety characteristics, such as a Class 1 fire rating, ensure low smoke opacity and toxicity in the event of a fire. Finally, Mondo flooring products help to create more comfortable spaces by reducing noise levels by up to -20 dB and providing impact absorption for better underfoot comfort.
