EMS Training Facility

The City of Boston developed a specialized training facility for its municipal emergency medical services. The facility includes office space for EMS training staff, classrooms, simulation rooms, a cafeteria, a rehabilitation gym, locker rooms, and a multipurpose room open to the public. The completed space is designed to balance durability, medical-grade cleanliness, and a dynamic sense of place. A distinctive aspect of EMS training is that instruction extends beyond the classrooms—small groups may practice CPR in the cafeteria, or emergency response scenarios may be reenacted in the hallways. This flexible approach allows for dynamic and realistic training while maintaining a comfortable environment that reflects the identity of Boston EMS.
